Music at Berkley First School

Music is an important and much-loved part of life at Berkley. From lively singing sessions to exploring sounds with percussion and trying out their own compositions, children are given lots of opportunities to enjoy and express themselves through music.

In Key Stage 2, all children learn to play the recorder, and piano lessons are available with our visiting music teacher. A real highlight each week is when the children sing and play the recorder in church—it's a brilliant way for them to build confidence, perform in front of others, and feel proud of what they’ve learned.
